NGO “Sakha – World XXI Century”

NGO's objectives are strengthening the reputation of the Sakha Republic in world community, helping to develop its intellectual and economical potential, stimulating the activity of young people, and supporting young talents and their ideas.

In 1998, Sakha – World XXI Century extended its activity. Since then, it also arranges the regular round-table discussion “Kustuk” (Rainbow) on topical issues.

This event became notable and vital in the life of Yakutia for certain reasons. First, subjects to consider always concern the current public or political situation of the Republic. For instants, “Kustuk” talked over the election of the Russian President, federalism, legislative activity, constitutional reforms, etc. Second, well-known public figures, statesmen and mass media tend to be invited for discussion. The last special guests were Chairman of the Republic Central Election Committee, Prime-Minister and Speaker of the Republic Parliament (IL Tumen) correspondently. Third, ordinary people may participate, reveal their positions and solutions, propose any recommendations to invited representatives of authorities.

By the end of 2005, Sakha – World XXI Century arranged 39 panel discussions; all of them were widely covered by regional mass media.

The organization established Boy Club “Erel” on the base of 1 st Elementary School in the town of Pokrovsk (the Khangalasky raion).

In 2004, the NGO opened Children's Lawful Academy for the purpose to give young people enlightenment in jurisdiction. This project runs in cooperation with the Pokrovsk Town Library and was supported with the funds of Ministry of Youth Policy.

In 2005, Sakha – World XXI Century received a grant to launch the Internet project. Now it is vivid that new generation needs more self-expression and recognition. YakutiaToday.Com is the way to make their dream come true.
