How many people work on YakutiaToday.com?

One only. It's me.

That's the question I hear often from friends, journalists, international website visitors. So, don't be surprised, if reply to your requests will be forwarded from my personal email addresses or updates doesn't happen as often as I wish. Latter depends totally on the availability of free time.

You can also find me at Flickr.com and YouTube.com. I've got also weblog AskYakutia.com that is done in the form of FAQ.

Yakutia on the popular Hungarian news website

Recently I received a portion of questions from Zoltan Molnar, online news reporter of Budapest/Hungary. I gave him answers, and he wrote a wonderful story of how people manage to survive in such extreme weather conditions in Yakutia.

His article was published at the popular national news portal Origo.hu. Here the link http://www.origo.hu/nagyvilag/20090112-minusz-otven-fokot-mertek-sziberiaban.html.

That means site visitors, especially journalists, are welcome to ask questions about Yakutia and get answers.

Regarding updates

I was just thinking to change YakutiaToday.com . Writing codes manually is so hard. Takes much time. That's why updats happen so rare.

CSM is what I want to install. But I do like the current design.

Maybe, anyone may give me an advice how to move to CSM and reserve the design at the same time. Or just useful links.

Yakutia on YouTube.com

Yakutia is gaining ground on YouTube.com . Many videos dedicated to the biggest Russian region have appeared on the popular video hosting portal. Thanks to YouTube users. Just follow the link http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=yakutia and you'll see what I'm trying to say.

This is great, indeed. That's another efficient way to promote the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia).

Yakutsk: Journey to the coldest city on earth

Two weeks ago I received a message from Shaun Walker, The Independent Moscow-based correspondent. He informed me of his coming to Yakutsk and asked for meeting and advising. So, he arrived, spent three days here, and wrote the great story Yakutsk: Journey to the coldest city on earth.

The article turned out to be a headliner in The Independent Travel Section. The story immediately was reposted in other mass media, blogs (eg, A Walsh View) and sites. It was even translated into Russian by InoPress.ru (link), and came out in local online newspaper editions.

Cool! Another good job we did!

P.S. Outdoor market in Shaun Walker's picture.

BTW, next month Zadig Productions French company's team is arriving for making a documentary of Yakutsk as one of four extreme cities on earth. UPDATE: Watch the promo video of Zadig Productions' documentary 'Coldest Cities: Episode One YAKUTSK'
