Arrested for gathering weed in extreme cold

Last week in Russia 's Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) police arrested with goods two men, who were gathering wild marijuana in the snow-covered cannabis field in Megino Kangalassky area.

Police was surprised that despite of the lowest temperature (minus 52 degrees Celsius) drug dealers had managed to gather two sacks of weed. The harvest weighed three kilo in all .

The two men admitted that they were going to share the drug with friends. Apart from, medical examination verified their usage of phytogenous drug.

The detained felons have been charged with illegal drug acquisition. They may face 10 years of liberty deprivation, if found guilty.

In the course of 2008, Yakutia's police detected and seized 166 kg of marijuana that is twice as much as in the previous year.
